Oren Geva Industrial Designer

My name is Oren Geva, I am a fresh graduate Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, industrial design department, Israel. I have grown up in a family of four sisters, in New York City, and then in Re'ut and Tel Aviv, constantly creating toys and products from all sorts of materials and ready-made scraps which I found in my neighborhood.

I always knew I wanted to be an industrial designer, even before I knew this profession was called that way, as in my mind industrial design offers wonderful opportunities to integrate innovation and aesthetics in order to better people’s well-being.

After graduating with honors from Thelma Yellin School of the Arts, I served in the Intelligence corp, where I learned the importance of teamwork.  Over time, I became eager to get to know new cultures, through traveling quite a bit around the world. I particularly enjoyed volunteering in the Tanzania and Malawi, where I got to experience the beauty and resourcefulness of the people who kindly opened their homes to us.

Studying industrial design has proven to be everything I had dreamed of.  Every day I learn how to pour life into my ideas through good design and through exposure to versatile designs that offer novelty, simplicity and wit. I believe good design is one that arouses the user and makes our daily actions joyful.
